The Soaring Eagle Inn & Conference Center (formerly known as the Holiday Inn) along with the Green Suites property was purchased by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe in July of 2007. In November of 2009 Tribal Council and the Migizi Board of Directors under the Cantu Administration felt that a better return on investment for this property would be to demolish the old hotel and build a new with an added feature of an indoor water park. During this transition, Green Suites, the 44 room extended lodging suites, would remain open for business to accommodate the Soaring Eagle Inn hotel patrons.
